Here’s what you can expect from this episode:

What happens when you finally become the success you were chasing and realize nobody really talks about what happens after you get there?

In this episode, I’m sitting down with Utah County Realtor, Sam Foley, for a really honest conversation about what the other side of success actually feels like. Sam has doubled her business this year, built a following by talking about what it’s actually like to live in her market, and started attracting clients from Instagram. But this conversation isn’t really about the numbers. We’re talking about what happens in your head and with your relationship with money once things finally start working, why the pressure can actually get heavier as your business grows, and why you don’t necessarily feel like you’ve made it even when the version of you from a year ago would say you did.

We also get into the shift that happened when Sam stopped trying to fit in and started leaning into the unfiltered version of herself. She shares what gave her the freedom to show more of her actual personality, why she’s no longer afraid to be a little spicy or controversial online, and how being herself helped her find her people. Because when everyone is copying and pasting each other, nobody else can be you.

If you’re chasing a number thinking it’ll fix everything, I hope this episode gives you a more realistic picture of what’s waiting on the other side and a little more permission to show up as yourself, try new things, and see what happens. So if you want an honest conversation about success, money, motherhood, and figuring it all out as you grow, hit play and let’s get into it.

Meet Sam:

Sam Foley is a solo real estate agent in Utah County and the voice behind a local Instagram following pulling 75K-120K views a month. She grew up in Alpine watching two-lane roads turn into highways. She works with buyers, sellers, and relocators from across the country and internationally. She has been licensed six years with $10M+ in volume ($5.5M of it this past year). Before real estate: photography, a failed online boutique, and a few roles in tech. She's a mom of a toddler and wife to a local cop, open about being "different" in Utah and what it takes to grow a business without losing yourself in the process. She'll tell you what the market is actually doing, ugly data and all, and what it's like living in one of the fastest growing areas in the country. She's not the polished version of a real estate agent, but that's kind of the point.

Here’s what we’re covering on this episode:

  • Why Sam left her full time tech job, went all in on real estate, and realized the unfiltered version of herself was what actually attracted clients

  • What pushed Sam to leave real estate teams, go solo, and start building her business on her own terms

  • The identity shift that happens when you become the success you used to chase and why doubling your business still might not feel like you’ve made it

  • How making more money changed Sam’s relationship with money and brought a whole new kind of pressure she wasn’t expecting

  • The reality of balancing a growing real estate business with marriage, motherhood, and the feeling that you’re falling short somewhere

  • Why Sam stopped trying to fit in, leaned into her real personality online, and found that being more authentic actually brought her more followers, engagement, and clients

More about Above Asking:

Most real estate podcasts tell you what to post—the trends, the templates, the strategies everyone swears by. Above Asking is different. This is a perspective-driven show for the next-gen real estate agent who wants to build a brand that stands out by learning how to think, not just what to do.

If you're showing up, posting consistently, doing all the things, but you're starting to wonder if any of this is actually going to work, you're in the right place. Everyone's giving you the what. Nobody's teaching you the how. So you're out here with no real strategy behind any of it, and it's way harder than it looked.
